While the Asian elephant is a deeply revered cultural icon in Kerala their ancestral migratory paths are increasingly threatened by modern habitat fragmentation. When farmers embrace traditional agroforestry rather than clearing land for sun-drenched monoculture, they preserve the vital tree canopies and green corridors these magnificent animals need to travel safely between forest reserves. By supporting responsibly grown, canopy-covered cacao, chocolate makers and enthusiasts directly contribute to maintaining these essential pathways, ensuring that both traditional wildlife and sustainable agriculture can thrive side by side.
